South Coast Insurance Brokers was formed by Nathan Hadlow in Albany in 2000. We deal with many of Australia’s leading insurers, including household names such as Allianz, CGU, QBE, Vero and Zurich plus a host of specialist underwriting agencies that enable us find the right insurance policies and cover for your needs.

Our 8 staff have over 188 years of experience in general insurance with an emphasis on providing excellence in service and advice, claims handling and settlement.

We service small to large business and rural clients throughout Western Australia

South Coast Insurance Brokers WA Pty Ltd is a Principal member of the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA), which is the industry professional body. NIBA membership requires adherence to a strict Code of Practice, ongoing professional development and a high standard of ethics. We also subscribe to the General Insurance Brokers’ Code of Practice.

We are also a member of Insurance brokers Network Limited (IBNA Ltd), which was established by a group of general insurance brokers to provide our clients with the benefits of big business buying power as well as personalised service. Members of IBNA Ltd are committed to providing the highest standards of service and advice to their clients.

We have been successful because we offer something different from the Direct Insurers, Internet Specialists and the large impersonal insurance brokerages. We focus on putting the customer first and providing the level of service that you really should expect from your insurers. Our Team

Nathan Hadlow

Nathan Hadlow (Managing Director) is a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker (QPIB) He has been awarded a Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking) and is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF). He has over twenty five years experience in the insurance industry; ten years with major insurers in commercial underwriting and claims and has worked as a general insurance broker in all classes of general insurance since 1998.

Jan Christian

Jan Christian is a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker (QPIB) and has completed the Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking), and is a Senior Associate member of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF). Jan has over twenty five years experience in the Insurance Broking industry in all classes of general insurance. Jan has been South Coast Insurance Brokers since 2006 and is an Account Manager with her own portfolio of clients.

Erica Huffer

Erica Huffer is a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker (QPIB). She has completed a Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking). Erica has over thirty three years experience in the insurance industry; twenty years with major insurers in commercial claims and underwriting. Erica has worked as a general insurance broker at South Coast Insurance Brokers since 2002 and is the Office Broking Manager.

Lisa Symmans

Lisa Symmans is a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker (QPIB) and has completed a Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking). Lisa has over twenty two years experience in the insurance industry; Eleven years as a Commercial Claims officer with SGIO and SGIC specialising in Workers Compensation claims management. Lisa has worked at South Coast Insurance Brokers since 2003 as an Office Broker.

Tracey Donaldson

Tracey Donaldson is a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker (QPIB) and has completed a Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking). Tracey has over thirty years experience in the insurance industry, working for both Insurance companies and brokers. Tracey joined South Coast Insurance Brokers in September 2015 as an Office Broker and has a broad knowledge of the Australian insurance market in all classes of insurance.

Brian D'Arcy

Brian and has worked in the insurance industry in excess of 40 years and joined our office in February 2015. He has completed a Diploma in Insurance and Finance and a Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. Commencing his career at SGIO he progressed to became an assistant manager at RiskCover and since 1995 he has worked for two of the world’s largest international brokers, as a specialist consultant in worker’s compensation claims management and injury management services. Brian’s work enables our clients to enjoy a smooth passage through what can often be an adversarial and complex area of insurance. Resultant reduction in claims costs will ensure that premium savings are generated. With his years of experience, Brian can ensure clients to meet Legislative requirements by assisting to write and modify claims and injury management procedures, including implementation and training of staff at the appropriate levels. We are proud to able to offer this unrivaled service to existing and new clients throughout the state.

Anastasia Hawkins

Anastasia is Tier 1 Compliant and is currently studying towards the Diploma of Financial Services (Broking). Anastasia was born and raised in Albany and completed her education to a high standard at Albany Senior High School. Anastasia then worked in Retail and Hospitality before joining South Coast Insurance Brokers in January 2016. Anastasia is employed as a Broker Assistant and assists clients with Rural and Small Business new business and renewals and also assists Nathan with Broad Acre Crop insurance and claims. Anastasia is extremely capable and she has become a valuable part of team with a great future in the insurance broking industry.

Ronnie Maddocks

Ronnie Maddocks is Tier 2 Compliant and is currently studying towards Tier 1. Ronnie has worked in a variety of industries including Hardware, Health & Fitness and Administration and more recently in new Car Sales in Albany. Ronnie joined South Coast Insurance Brokers in January 2017 and works at Reception and is responsible for Domestic new business and renewals, claims lodgement and ongoing claims management. Ronnie enjoys helping customers and is keen to learn. Ronnie is looking forward to a long career in insurance broking.

If you go direct to an insurer or if you use a price comparison site, you are simply being given a price and a description of cover – it’s tough luck if you make the wrong choice! We have an office in Albany that our customers can call into without an appointment whenever we are open for business and we also have Account Managers that will come to you.
